Girls v. Boys by SMBC = Awesome.

SMBC sort of nails this one.

However, I wonder if there's a sign in the fact that I used to try and make my dolls fly...

Sex In The City Is Star Wars For Chicks?

There's a guy...(thank you, Dr. Denis Leary)...over at the Huffington Post who said "First off, ladies, I get it. It's your Star Wars." as an opener to his review of Sex and the City 2.

Okay, so...before I take a serious swipe at this guy, I'm trying to decide if he meant to sound like a jerk ;-)

If he's serious, then I don't need to smack him down, since Tracy King over at Skepchick pretty much served him a can of whoop ass in a nice, neat, package right here.

But something tells me that the "Writer, Humorist" tags next to his byline may be more to the point and that, in fact, he wasn't trying to say that SATC is Star Wars for those of us with lady parts. He actually references SW throughout the article and checks in with the "ladies" as he does so to make sure his SATC/SW connections are right.

Oh and, he states that he hasn't even seen SATC2 -- so he knows he's pulling these references right out of his ass ;-)

Which means, if I'm right, then we don't need to nerd rage at him for saying SATC is our Star Wars. Nope.

What we need to do is mock him for comparing the SATC series to Eps. 4 - 6.

That.

Is.

Blasphemy.

Then again, somehow it does give new meaning to "You came in THAT thing? You're braver than I thought."

Weekly PVC Figure Ranking – Anime Garden Weekly Countdown –

Hey hey everyone, Lance here in what will be our regular weekly PVC figure ranking! We hope to broadcast this once a week, or every 2 weeks :D

The list represents the popularity based on the number of views, our bestsellers and the staff here at AG! So a real combination of data!

Anyway, let's get onto the ranking, starting with the lady that claims the throne in our first week!

1st Place: Black Rock Shooter -animation version-

IF ONLY THIS WAS RELEASED TODAY!!!! OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG did I mention OMG :P

2nd Place: Senjyogahara Hitagi Good Smile Company Ver.

Ah the tsundere heroine of Bakemonogatari (translates to [story of monsters]) is here, how lovely. She looks so fine, and she is so nicely colored, with so much detail even to the smallest parts! But I have to say, those stationery are just amazing, would hate to imagine how much time it took them to mould each individual pieces, and balance it so that it will link together... oh and it seems to be detachable too! Yup, this really seems to be a great figure!

Sasami will also be released by Alter. But gosh, the leader of the girls softball team and the rival of Rin, Sasasegawa Sasami is a very interesting character. And interestingly enough, she is also another tsundere character too, although not exactly like Senjogahara above... Anyway, the figure looks very nice, and I especially like her expression. So charming!

The leader of the Literature club, Amano Tooko Nendoroid ver. has made it in 6th place!

Gosh, Nendoroids are so cute, and she looks soo happy munching on paper! So kawaii!

7th Place: BLACK ROCK SHOOTER: Black Blade ver.

8th Place: Makise Kurisu

From Kotobukiya, the heroine from that talked about adventure game [Steins;Gate], Makise Kurisu is at 8th. With a very unique atmosphere, this one is a very beautiful figurine. A must for any Steins fans!

Right, that's it for the Anime Garden Weekly PVC Figure Ranking for the week of 24th~30rd May. Many beauties on the ranking for this week, I wonder how much movement there will be next week?

Right then, see you next week~

Sinestro revealed? And Justice League in Crisis?

Sinestro is Strong!

Geoff Johns, one of the most influential writers in comics today and newly assigned Chief Creative Officer of DC Entertainment, Tweeted recently about visiting the Green Lantern set in New Orleans. One interesting tidbit of info was him confirming that Mark Strong (Sherlock Holmes) is indeed playing Sinestro in the film. This is not official, but it soon may be. Here's the Tweet:

Back from an amazing trip to Green Lantern town a.k.a. New Orleans!! Ryan IS Hal. And Mark Strong is going to be a brilliant Sinestro.

Kilowog, the Guardians, Oa...all breathtaking. The age of Green Lantern is upon us!!

Tim Robbins going Green.

Actor Tim Robbins has joined the cast of Green Lantern according to Heat Vision. Robbins will play Senator Hammond, the disapproving father of the villain Dr. Hector Hammond played by Peter Sarsgaard. He joins the cast with Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern and Blake Lively as Carol Ferris. Warner Bros. is planning a release date of June 2011.

Chris Nolan to 'mentor' Superman movie?

Reported to be the biggest shocker since the announcement of the reboot to the Spider-Man franchise, Deadline Hollywood reports that Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan may be providing some creative direction to the Superman franchise in order to save it.
This can potentially be good for the franchise, but Superman ain't Batman. He's not dark and edgy. He's idealistic. It's still unclear on Nolan's involvement in the project, which is currently being labeled "Superman 3.0." All I can say is, can someone get J.J. Abrams on the phone?!

Saturday Squee: Wondrous Wonderland!

The more I see from the new Alice in Wonderland film, the more excited I get. Granted, I'm always happy for a Tim Burton project and I'm even more excited when Johnny Depp is involved, but everything I'm seeing on this movie leads me to believe it's going to be amazing.

Not to mention, it seems to be a perfect film for some incredible toys.
The Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter Doll from DC Direct is just one of the many new items I'm drooling over.
But there are definitely more. Click on the Mad Hatter to go down the rabbit hole ;-)
